2010 FRIENDS OF THE FOREST ANNUAL BENEFIT EVENT

The Annual Benefit Event will be held at the Port Warehouse or Transit Shed Event Center in Anacortes on October 23, 2010.

 Schedule of Events for the evening:
5:30 to 7:00 Drinks and Silent Auction
7 :00 to 8:00 Dinner
8:00 to 9:00 Live Auction
9:00 to 11:00 Music / Dancing

Tickets:
 $50.00 per person with $25.00 being tax deductible / $400.00 per table of 8 or $500.00 per table of 10. Tickets will be available through the Friends of the Forest office or Watermark Book Music -  by Fidalgo Swing and Spoonshine Duo
Dinner -  provided by Gere-a-Deli 
Featured Artist - Tracy Powell

Art, donated by several well known artists and other auction items will be announced at a later time.

Funds raised go to support the Friends Forest Education and Stewardship Program. This program provides a wide range of educational activities in the ACFL that promote a greater understanding of and support for our unique community treasure.
 
These funds allow us to continue to provide:
Education Programs and guided school field trips for every 3rd and 7th Grade student in Anacortes. 
Senior and all-ages guided hikes in the ACFL. 
Summer Forest Discovery Day Camp. 
Annual Ethno-botany class 
Educational newsletter 
Habitat Restoration and trail work. 
Special request hikes for groups. 
Middle-School Watershed Discovery. 
High School projects by request.
Other special projects in the schools and community. 
Adult field seminars and evening programs 
All Forest Education and Naturalist Services

FALL ACFL WORK PARTIES

October 9th at 9am, TRAIL REPAIR: Let’s meet at trailhead 304 at O Ave and Spradley Dr.
November 6th at 9am, INVASIVE PLANT REMOVAL: Let’s meet at trailhead 119 at 19th St and C  December 11th at 9am, EROSION CONTROL: Let’s meet at the Little Cranberry parking lot off Georgia Ave.

Hope to see you there, and as always, we’ll supply the tools. Please dress warm and wear boots and gloves. Our work parties generally last about 2 hours, rain or shine. We may cancel due to severe winds or snowfall.

Our past work parties have included projects to repair trails, build trail bridges, remove non-native invasive plant species, prune fire roads, plant trees, and clean up trash.
