Friends of the ACFL and the Anacortes Parks Department schedule periodic field days to maintain trails, pull noxious weeds, and otherwise care for our forestlands. Check our Calendar for times and places. Many volunteers also work on trail maintenance projects on their own time. Help At Home
Protect the Borders
If you are fortunate enough to live beside the ACFL, maintain a natural buffer of native plants between your home and the forest, keep pets and their waste out of the woods, and be careful not to use pesticides or herbicides on your landscaping that might drain into the forestlands. For more information about native plant gardening visit the Washington Native Plant Society (WNPS) website. Native plant information is also available from the local chapter of the WNPS.
