Forest Discovery Center Now Open!

On Friday, June 13th, 2025, we were thrilled to welcome the community to join us for the Forest Discovery Center ribbon cutting. We were joined by many, including Anacortes city officials Mayor Matt Miller and City Councilmember Carolyn Moulton, staff of The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Recreation staff Bob Vaux and Jamie Burrows, representatives of the schools and schools foundation, and many of our wonderful members and supporters to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new Forest Discovery Center, located at 404 Commercial Ave in Anacortes.

Our Board President, Andrea Petrich, shared a few words before we asked the community to stand with us as we cut the ribbon together - we wouldn't be here without you! On a side note, we are also so proud to congratulate Andrea on a well-deserved win of the title, 2025 Anacortes Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year!

We’re so grateful for the support and encouragement we've received across the community throughout this journey. Your enthusiasm helped bring this vision to life. As we shared in our last email, this space has been thoughtfully designed and lovingly developed over time, and we’re beyond excited to now open it to the public!

Come visit and experience it for yourself; we’d love to show you around. Whether you're curious about our programs, drawn to the interactive exhibits, or need to get the kids out of the house, there’s something here for everyone. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a deeply enriching space for learning, connection, and discovery.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce, the Peach Foundation, Barrett Financial, and the Anacortes Rotary for helping make today such a success!
