Forest Discovery Center
Fall/Winter Hours:
This summer has been a huge success at the Forest Discovery Center — we welcomed over 700 visitors through our doors! A huge thank you to our members, Barrett Financial, and the Peach Foundation for making the FDC possible—and to our wonderful docents for bringing it all to life.
The Forest Discovery Center has transitioned out of regular weekly hours. Instead, we’ll only be open for Anacortes’ downtown events such as Halloween and Elves Night Out, educational programs and workshops, partner events, and community activities. Check our events page for upcoming FDC programs and hours.
Our office hours remain Tuesday-Thursday, 10am to 3pm.
We look forward to seeing you soon at the Forest Discovery Center at 404 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes.
At the Forest Discovery Center, you will find:
A classroom to host existing programs such as our Naturalist Club and Trail Ambassadors, as well as become a home for community workshops, lectures, and additional youth art and science programs
Exhibits on the history of the ACFL, forest ecology, and rotating interactive youth and community partnership displays
A “home base” for forest users to find maps, hike recommendations, and other guided activities in the ACFL
Updates on Friends’ upcoming community & youth events and programming in the forest
