With over 50 miles of trails and nearly 3000 acres to explore, the Anacortes Community Forest Lands have long been an inspiration to local artists and enthusiasts alike. Join Friends of the ACFL and the Museum of Northwest Art to explore how our ever-changing forests can be an inspiration to artists, scientists, and all of us! Dress in preparation for walking and sitting, and be prepared to make some great forest art, too! Bring your own sketchbook, or we will provide basic supplies.
This program is offered in partnership with MoNA’s exhibition Surge: A Geography of Flow, guest curated by Chloe Dye Sherpe. This exhibition partners artists with scientists to create data-informed work examining the systems that drive the movement of people, plants, animals, and natural elements. Complete this experience with a trip to the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner to see how artists have been inspired by our changing environment!
