With over 50 miles of trails and nearly 3000 acres to explore, the Anacortes Community Forest Lands have long been an inspiration to local artists and enthusiasts alike. Join Friends of the Forest and the Museum of Northwest Art to celebrate our relationship to the forests of the Northwest (and make some great forest art, too!) Dress in preparation for walking and sitting, and feel free to bring any field guides/art supplies that spark your imagination. We will provide some basic art supplies to get us started.

Open to all! Rain or shine!

All ages and experiences are welcome.

This program is offered in partnership with MoNA’s exhibition Silva Cascadia: Under the Spell of the Forest. Complete this experience with a trip to the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner to see how other local artists have been inspired by our incredible local environment! Those looking to dive deeper into forest artmaking can attend Draw The Forest: Preliminary Drawing Fundamentals for Plein Air Painting w/ Trish Harding at MoNA the morning of this walk!
